ENSUI: How'd you get close enough to see that?
BANRI: I didn't. Check out what I got at a Gunstock Goods corner, in trade for a Plastic Spoon Believed To Have Been Chewed On By Son Goku Himself. It's a spyglass!
ENSUI: Looks like a rolled-up kyoumon--if a kyoumon was plastic and you could look through one end of it and see things bigger!
BANRI: Turn it around, and things that are teeny get even teenier. Gonna do that whenever Sa Gojyo starts warbling up there...like now!
[In the late afternoon's fading light, a portable spotlight comes on, shining on the Jeep's back half as the music to the full version of "Tightrope," Gensomaden Saiyuki's first end theme, starts to play. Gojyo and Goku forget their bruises and grin in anticipation, primed for their duet "Question" by Thorn!]
GOKU: Hey, is that map you're reading right?
GOKU: Hey, Hakkai...are we there yet?
GOJYO: Hey, is the monk awake up there
GOJYO: Hey, Baldy...are we there yet?
GOKU and GOJYO: Sanzo-sama, please listen
GOKU: Hey Sanzo...are we there yet?
GOKU and GOJYO: Where is this freakin tower
[The crowd's cheers turn half to laughter and half to shrieks as the treadmill suddenly jams, sending the Jeep fishtailing away across the stage! A white flash fills the air, and the Sanzo-ikkou tumble offstage, Jeep now back in dragon form and flapping above.]
BANRI: That was some stunt! Don't think that was planned. And that's one agitated little dragon! ...Ensui, you didn't...?
ENSUI: Me? Ohhhh no. One go-round was enough--that thing has a mouthful of needles! Don't want him mad at me again!
BANRI: Cho Hakkai has come back out and pulled his dragon down. It's all squirmy and puffed-up--looks kinda like marshmallow bagpipes gone wild.
ENSUI: ...Wow, marshmallow Peeps are dangerous enough...
BANRI: That dragon didn't like something at the opposite end of the stage...and here's Kougaiji looking pretty bristly now, too. Wonder who's up next?
Is there a place to spend the night?
GOKU and GOJYO: 'cause we haven't seen a light
To indicate
Civilization's in sight
Now it's not that we are doubting
That you can find the place
Just nervous seein' THAT smile...on your face
How much more West to go
Before we see some people and a place to sleep and oh!
A steaming plate of meat buns
GOJYO: and some hot chicks we can--
HAKKAI: (Gojyo!!)
GOJYO: (What?)
GOKU: Well we just wanted to know
Cause he really needs to share
The plan he has, if any
Once, if ever...we get there
GOKU and GOJYO: Cause it's not like we're questioning
(getting louder) If he has it all worked out
Just wish he'd tell what he thinks...ABOUT!!
How much more West to go?
Don't think I'm gonna let you nap
While he's hungry and I'm hor--
HAKKAI: (Gojyo!!)
GOJYO: (Well I am.)
GOKU: So turn around and give us your full attention so
GOKU and GOJYO: We can ask what we need to know
We really have to say
How long til the Sanbutsushin
Say you maxed out their Gold Card limit?
And TAKE IT BACK!
How much more West to go?
GOKU and GOJYO: Seems like we've been driving for years and
You still don't know
GOJYO: Where is this f-(Gojyo!!) freakin' tower
And the face off with Gyumaoh
SANZO (muttering to Hakkai but in tune): (I'm going to kill them all)
And the face off with Gyu-
(sound of Sanzo emptying his gun)
GOKU and GOJYO: If we're lost just tell us so!!
Or return to JOURNEY TO THE REST
