6/25: Cleaned up the Yammer on episode 13. Also updated the trivia fact on Geneon; their sponsorship of GUNLOCK ended after episode 8. Now I'm gonna sit down and try to work out the lyrics to the chorus of "Shiro No Jumon." ;^)

6/11: New news item today, on the July anime monthlies. Debating whether to report what NEWTYPE let slip...hate to spoil it, especially since Minekura-sensei should rightly be first out with it--but it's so damn intriguing! Might put it on "Journey To The Rest Area" and hide it behind an LJ cut, so that it can't be accidentally stumbled across...

6/10: Updated the page of ratings and statistics for RELOAD and GUNLOCK. Yammer on Saiyuki RELOAD GUNLOCK #11 is up at RELOAD RICOCHET; that's the quick-and-dirty first time through, and I'll clean it up tomorrow.

6/05: Added a doujinshi apiece to the circle sections for NOUZENKAZURA, PHANTOM SURVIVAL and SUPER BABY'S & TENKAICHI BENNY'S. Am working on an FAQ for the site and hope to put it up shortly.

6/03: Abortive attempt at a Nama-Yammer tonight at RELOAD RICOCHET; stomachache sent me to the bathroom for a major part of it, and the computer lost its online connection because I was away for more than five minutes. Details on next week's preview are there for now; feeling too queasy to go back through the episode tonight, and the manga chapter the episode adapts has already been published in English, so, may as well leave it at that. Let's try again next week...

5/29: Did a news item on the new Zero-Sum, and added two fukusei cels to the fukusei cel gallery. Got to trot!

5/27: New section tonight: a FUKUSEI CEL GALLERY, with eight pages of cels of different characters, has been added to DOUGA PARTY! Yammer on Saiyuki RELOAD GUNLOCK #9 is up now at RELOAD RICOCHET. Am kinda sick tonight so have only watched the episode once, so this Yammer is pretty rough. Will watch the episode again tomorrow and clean the Yammer up then.

5/26: "Saiyuki OFFROAD" has arrived at last! A news item and a couple scans are on the front page now.

5/23: Five more doujinshi today, to the circle sections for BLUE MIND, HANDSOME DAN, KAITEHYAKKA, MAI MAI (one of the best finds from the recent Osaka trip; it's also been added to the Chin Iisou/Gonou page), and MENODETA TOKEI. Added this week's trivia fact, too!

5/22: Added five doujinshi tonight--three to the new circle section for NERO, and one each to the KATOUZA and RYOUGETSU DX VS AtoZ SP circle sections!

5/21: Big thanks to A-san at work, who thought last night's typhoon would keep everyone home today so stayed up late and watched GUNLOCK...oops! There's a memorable exchange with a line that stumped me so I hadn't included that part--and when A-san didn't see it in the Yammer, he explained the mystery line to me. The result is a new paragraph (added after the rock breaks the window)--many thanks, A-san! Tonight I also added a doujinshi each to three circle sections: AIMAIYA, ANIMAL LOVE and AQUA. The best news all week is that Lux has updated "Still Not There Yet," her Saiyuki RELOAD GUNLOCK episode image gallery! Links are at RELOAD RICOCHET. Thanks so much, Lux!

5/18: The news item on the June ZERO-SUM and anime monthlies is up! Sorry it's so late...the ZERO-SUM came out as the Golden Week craziness was hitting so I couldn't get to it until afterwards, and if I see I'm not the first to write about something, it gets way too easy to talk myself into just going to sleep after work instead of staying up and writing old news! Will bust butt to have the scoop next time.

5/13: Yammer on Saiyuki RELOAD GUNLOCK #7 is up at RELOAD RICOCHET! Forgot to mention, yesterday I updated the page of ratings and statistics for RELOAD and GUNLOCK; you'll find the results of the Animage Grand Prix there, too! Had hoped to put the new news item and scans up tonight, but need to leave in about three hours for a shinkansen trip to Shizuoka so have got to get some sleep. Will finish them up when I get back!

5/09: Man oh man...need a vacation after that vacation! We reopened at work on Thursday; it took two 10-hour days, but I got pretty much caught up on the Golden Week backlog by the weekend, so that's a relief. Slept almost all day yesterday and a good chunk of today, and am feeling more up to getting back to work on this site now! Tonight I added a doujinshi apiece to the circle sections for ANGEL NIGHT, AQUA, DOHC, HERZ KAISER and HONEY. Also added this week's trivia fact, and updated the COUPLINGS page with a couple obscure pairings spotted at Super Comic City: Kenren/Hakkai and Gojyo/Kouryuu. Am woefully late on reporting on the June ZERO-SUM, and the anime monthly magazines come out tomorrow, so plan to just write them all up together then. GUNLOCK moves back to 1:30am this week after airing at 2:00am the last two weeks, so am thinking of taking a whack at a Nama-Yammer on Thursday. And right after that, hope to finally put up a long-overdue site for that youkai guy born May 13...!

5/02: Added the trivia fact for this week. Still haven't had a chance to write about the ZERO-SUM--heck, barely survived Super Comic City today! Leave for Osaka tomorrow night. Off to get some sleep (while I can!).

4/14: Added three doujinshi (updated circle sections listed on the doujinshi page). Also added info on the next four Saiyuki RELOAD GUNLOCK episodes to Reload Ricochet. I'm not big on duplication of effort, so since Jeanne Johnson's superb translations of the manga chapters these episodes will be based on are already available at Aestheticism.com, have put links to them on the Ricochet page and am not planning to do yammers. (Apologies to everyone I owe e-mail to--am working on catching up!)

4/12: The anime monthlies are here! Tonight I romanized the TV-size lyrics of Saiyuki RELOAD GUNLOCK's themes "Don't Look Back Again" and "Mitsumeteitai" (the kana lyrics ran in the May ANIMEDIA) and added them to the "Saiyuki Singalong" section, and also updated the page of Japanese TV and Fan Popularity Statistics for RELOAD, and updated the upcoming release lists, too. Will write up some highlights of the issues later this week!

4/04: Sorry, guys--my #$%&! mouse died! Too broke right now to get a new one, but I'd brought one over in 2000 and then packed it away after not needing it. Took some serious digging, but I finally found it, and it works! Today I did the updates intended for yesterday--the cleaned-up yammer on GUNLOCK #1 at Reload Ricochet, and five books added to various circle sections (noted on the doujinshi page)--and also added this week's trivia fact.

4/03: Was too conked out to do much after another root canal yesterday! But today I've watched GUNLOCK #1 a second time, and am working on a cleaned-up and expanded yammer on it now.

4/01: Very rough Yammer on the first episode of Saiyuki RELOAD GUNLOCK is at Reload Ricochet! Too tired to clean it up tonight; will do it tomorrow after work. Off to sleep...

3/31: Wow--have received a slew of mail about "Gunlock" yammers! Thanks so much to all for writing, and I'll take a try at doing a Nama-Yammer for the first episode tomorrow. In the meantime, didn't want to let March pass without any doujinshi updates, so tonight I added a book each to the circle sections for EGOISTIC GUESS, HONEY, SAKURA ANNIN, SUPER BABY'S & TENKAICHI BENNY's and WHITE EAGLE.

3/19: About to scramble out the door to head to Tokyo for Haru Comic City, the first big doujinshi event of the year. Wrote as much of the news item as I could before time ran out...! Will add the rest after I get back Sunday night.

3/18: Had to come home sick from work today, but the bathroom is blessedly close to the TV and computer, and I got through the yammer for Episode 24--it's up now at Reload Ricochet! Heading to bed now. Will put the news up tomorrow first thing after work.

3/17: Dog-sick and ready to die. Not up to the news today, although there's even more to report now; the new Saiyuki RELOAD Fan Club mailing arrived today with some interesting information. But TV Tokyo has now removed "Saiyuki RELOAD GUNLOCK" from its page of new anime series starting in April! I should probably take down yesterday's news item, then--but in case it's a temporary change, will wait until tomorrow to see if there are any further changes. Anyway, will try to do the overdue news item tomorrow, along with a Nama-Yammer on episode 24. Haven't been able to keep any food down today, though, and if I still feel this awful tomorrow, may not do the Nama-Yammer. Really hope to feel better tomorrow.

3/16: TV Tokyo has finally made it official! Saiyuki RELOAD GUNLOCK will start Thursday night, April 1, at 1:30am. A link to the listing of that network's listing of new anime series and start times is in the front-page news item. Spent tonight doing a ton of scanning--watch for the days-overdue news blurb on the April magazines and new "Saiyuki RELOAD Official Guide Vol. 1" tomorrow!

3/14: Have spent an ugly weekend alternating between the bathroom and the computer, e-mailing around and searching Japanese sites to see if there were any more details to be had on the rumored "Saiyuki Gunlock." The new Saiyuki series starting in April is a sure thing; its title is not. Japanese fans have been dissecting and reassembling the broadcast schedule to guess where newly-announced series may end up; the consensus is that the new Saiyuki series is likely to show on Thursday nights at 1:30am (an "adult" timeslot!), but that's fan speculation, not official. (My own speculation is that this will be a 13-episode adaptation of Saiyuki Gaiden...but again, that's just a guess.) I'm sorry to have not finished the news item on the anime magazines' RELOAD coverage yet or done the yammer on episode 23--will get on those soon; months are always bad for me around the 13th, and this time was extra-bad. But tonight I added a new trivia fact and updated the page of Japanese TV and Fan Popularity Statistics for RELOAD.

3/12: We're back! Very sorry for the several-day down time; hotlinking was about to hamstring the site, and I had to put a stop to it. Because the site was down, I didn't do a Nama-Yammer for episode 23, but its too-twisted UraSai is covered in Reload Ricochet and a yammer on the rest of the episode will be added tomorrow or Sunday. Meanwhile, the huge news on the anime front is in a news item; tomorrow some info on the April magazines' Reload coverage and some scans will be added to it!

2/11: Today is a Japanese national holiday. Haven't enjoyed it much because I managed to bust a tooth! Tried to stop thinking about it by compiling a page of Japanese TV and Fan Popularity Statistics for the Saiyuki RELOAD anime series. DIdn't help the tooth, but at least the page is done. Not sure what will happen tomorrow--terrified of dentists anyway, have never been to a dentist in Japan, and there's that Nama-Yammer tomorrow; if a dentist can see me, hope I can get back home in time. Man, I hope the national health care covers dentistry--otherwise, payday ain't until Monday...wish me luck.
